SEEK THE LOST!

SEEK THE LOST!

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. —Luke 19:10

When Jesus was walking the earth during His ministry years He was very intentional in what He was doing and how He was using His time. His main focus was “to seek and to save the lost.”   That is what the cross is all about!   He came “that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). Jesus is “the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep” (John 10:11).   Jesus is the good shepherd that “has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent” (Luke 15:4-7).

How intentional are you and I in seeking the lost?   Do we have this same passion that Jesus had? He left the glory of heaven to come to this sin infested world— this filthy, sinful, rebellious planet that He could rescue the lost. He left the comfort of heaven to experience the most uncomfortable experience that anyone would ever have—- taking the punishment for the world’s sin— past, present and future— upon Himself at the cross. Not only that, but He experience the sorrow and grief of the people of this planet past, present and future as well. Now… can we leave our “comfort” to seek the lost?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yBzIt_z8oY

Sinners do not seek after our Lord for salvation.   Just like Adam and Eve they try to hide their sin from God. Of course, this is impossible. But our Lord God sought out Adam and Eve and Jesus came to seek us out as well. So as followers of Jesus let us be obedient and be the witnesses He has called us to be (Acts 1:8). Let us be the disciplers He has commanded us to be (Matthew 28:19-20).   He will do His will though us who desire to will His will! Yes, He will !

Dear Father may I have a passion like Jesus and seek out the lost and make disciples. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
