UNEXPECTED JUDGMENT TO COME—BE READY

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot—they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all— so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed. —Luke 17:26-29

Both in the days of Noah and in the days of Lot so will it be when Jesus returns.   Life was going on as usual.   People did not expect the impending judgment. People were eating and drinking— it was their normal way of life. There were those who were marrying just as it has always been— expecting a life together. People were buying and selling—- commerce was going on as usual.   People were planting— farming continued as it has since the beginning of the human race. People were building— construction of houses, other buildings, and roads went on. All this was happening without any thought that judgment was very near, right at the door.

In Noah’s day, after the ark was built, the flood came when they did not expect it and all were destroyed except Noah and his family. In Lot’s day only he and his two daughters escaped the judgment that came upon Sodom. Even Lot’s wife was judged for her disobedience. The people in those days had no clue their end was near and did not believe that judgment was close at hand— until it happened. So it will when Jesus comes back— people will be going on with their regular routines of life and not believe He is coming back to judge— until He does, but it will be too late— judgment will be upon them.

That is why we are told “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation” (II Corinthians 6:2).  If you have not called on Jesus then now is the time to call on the Him and be saved from your sin and saved to a relationship with Him (Romans 10:13). If you have never called upon Him, willing to turn from your own ways and follow Him (that’s repentance), then I urge you to do so.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYZw0dfLmLk You will face the Judgment of Jesus when He comes back or if you die before He comes back.   Either way those who do not know Jesus will be judged forever in the eternal lake of fire (Matthew 25:41- 46); Revelation 20:15)

Dear Father please help those who have not called on Jesus to do so now. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
