‘I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.’ —Exodus 33:12

The Lord knew Moses by name and He knows you by name! Not only does our Lord know our name, but He knows “what was in each person” (John 2:25). And just as He created, formed and summon Israel by name, so also He summons you by name (Isaiah 43:1). “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day” (John 6:44). Even “the very hairs of your head are all numbered” by Him as He intimately knows everything about us (Luke 12:7). “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…” (Jeremiah 1:5). Yes, our Lord knows each of us well.

Wow, not only does He know everything about us, but we have also found favor in His sight—- “For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8). For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion” (Romans 9:15). This is all His doing and “who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?” (I Corinthians 4:7). Life is a gift from God. Eternal life is a gift from God. You and I did not earn this or deserve this. He “called you to his eternal glory” (I Peter 5:10) “to live in the grace of Christ” (Galatians 1:6). Let us rejoice and be faithful in this favored position we have in Jesus!

Dear Father I am so grateful to You for what You have done, are doing and will do in and through my life. May I live to love, serve and bring You glory in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. May this be so!
