BRING THE GOSPEL TO OTHERS
BRING THE GOSPEL TO OTHERS
But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it. After these things he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country. And they went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them. Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen. —Mark 16:11-14
Do you get discouraged when you talk to someone about Jesus and they will not believe you? Think about after Jesus rose from the dead and when some of His followers saw Him risen and told the others they would not believe them. Then when Jesus appeared to those who did not believe “He rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen.”
“Unbelief and hardness of heart” keep people from believing. We can bring them the message that Jesus is alive and that He has taken the penalty and punishment for our sin debt and whoever calls on His Name will be saved (Romans 10:13), but He has to make “His light shine in (people’s) hearts to give (them) the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (II Corinthians 4:6).
So don’t be discouraged! Bring the message to people. God will do the rest. This is what He has called us to (Matthew 28:10-20; Acts 1:8). May we be faithful.
Father help me to carry the gospel message to many people and may You saved them as they believe. Yes, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
