A GRATEFUL HEART TELLS OTHERS ABOUT JESUS

A GRATEFUL HEART TELLS OTHERS ABOUT JESUS

As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with demons begged him that he might be with him.  And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”  And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled.  —-Mark 5:18-20

Follower of Jesus… are you grateful?  Are you understanding more of what you have been saved from and what you are saved to?  How is that gratitude impacting your life?

The formally demon possessed man in the above passage was truly grateful.  He wanted to be with Jesus.  He wanted to go where Jesus was going.  Instead, Jesus told him to “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”  Not only did the man go home and do so, but he went to ten cities in his region and told people what Jesus said to tell them.

Have you told your friends “how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you?”  Then when you have told all your friends about Jesus’ mercy to you, where else are you telling what Jesus has done?  Oh, may we live a life-time of gratefulness to our Lord Jesus and seek to tell others what He has done for us.

Want another example of a grateful heart telling others of what great things Jesus had done for him?  Read Saul’s account in Acts chapter 26.  What a wonderful example of a life of gratitude to Jesus lived out.  Oh, may you and I live such a life of gratefulness to Jesus.

Dear Father may I tell others what great things Jesus has done for me today and do so for the rest of my life.  May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.  Yes, may this be so!
