HE RAISES AND PUTS DOWN

For not from the east or from the west and not from the wilderness comes lifting up, but it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another. —Psalm 75:6-6

            It is God who puts down one and lifts another up.  He is the one who executes judgment.  Men may think they move themselves into positions of authority, but it is actually God who has put them in those places of power for His purposes.  Just as easily as He puts them into power He can take them out.

            Let us not fret when the wicked are in control.  They really are not ultimately in control.  God is and He is working out His purposes.  May we trust Him even when we do not understand why He allows certain people in those positions of authority.  Yes, trust Him.

Dear Father, in a world that just seems to be out of control with so much wickedness taking place it is wonderful to know that You are in control.  You are orchestrating Your purposes through all that is going on.  Nothing and nobody hinders Your plans from taking place.  May I be faithful in what You desire of me and may it be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.  So be it!
