WE ARE ALWAYS IN WAR!

WE ARE ALWAYS IN WAR!

Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive against them. —Proverbs 28:4

If a ruler listens to falsehood, all his officials will be wicked. —Proverbs 29:12

Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law. —Proverbs 29:18

An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, but one whose way is straight is an abomination to the wicked. —Proverbs 29:27

Listen… we are in spiritual warfare.  We who seek to follow the Lord and do His will need to be wise of Satan’s schemes (II Corinthians 2:11).  “A servant of the Lord must not be quarrelsome, but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, and forbearing.  He must gently reprove those who oppose him, in the hope that God may grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth.  Then they will come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, who has taken them captive to his will” (II Timothy 2:24-26).

Those who do not keep the Word of God praise the wicked.  They do not want to follow after God and when “a ruler listens to falsehood, all his officials will be wicked.”  When God’s Word is not the standard people will cast off restraint and wickedness will rule.  The righteous are grieved by this, “but one whose way is straight is an abomination to the wicked.”  There will be conflict between the righteous and the wicked.  There is conflict between the righteous and the wicked.  How can this be not the case when the righteous are seeking to do God’s will and the wicked are ensnared, captive to do Satan’s will?  There is a great divide.

As followers of Jesus we are called not to retreat from this mess, but to go into it with the Good News— For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”  How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?  And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” (Romans 10:13-15).  Yes, we are called to go into the world system of darkness with the light of the gospel that others can escape “from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:13-14).  We cannot do this in our own strength.  “I will go in the strength of the LORD God; I will proclaim your goodness, yours alone” (Psalm 71:16).  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu2S9y3r0XE

Dear Father help me to go into the darkness with the light of the gospel in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus that others may be saved.  May it be so!
