OUR GOD OVER THE IMPOSSIBLE
“How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” Those who heard this asked, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” —Luke 18:24-27
God can do anything He wants to do. God is God and we are not. There are things that we want to know, but they are out of our grasp. There are things we want to understand, but they are beyond our comprehending. Instead of getting frustrated with those things that are unanswered, let us be faithful to those things He has revealed to us. “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.”
God is either fully trustworthy or He is not worthy to be trusted at all. I sincerely believe His Word and that He is fully trustworthy. Oh, wouldn’t I like to be like that! God can take the impossible from the human stand point and make the possible out of it. Only He can do that. You and I cannot change people. We cannot change circumstances. There are times where we think we are in control, but we are not. Yes, we are responsible for our choices, but it is God who is Sovereign over us even though we cannot even come close to fully comprehending it.
Woe to the pilot who does not believe his instrument panel in flight and tries to fly “but the seat of his pants.” He will soon be in trouble along with all those on the plane. Woe to the person who does not believe in the Word of God and seeks to live life… their end will be far worse.
I am grateful to know that God is Sovereign over me and that I can trust Him fully. It is wonderful to know that this is true and that God is Sovereign over everything. He is working “out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will” (Ephesians 1:11). Yes, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
Dear Father, there is so much I do not understand. But I do understand that You are working everything for my good. Please help me to be faithful as I finish the race You have marked out for me.
