…to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace. —Luke 1:77-79

As John the Baptist was to bring the “knowledge of salvation through forgiveness of sins” to “those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, so we are also to do the same.

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” —Romans 10:13-15 (see Joel 2:32)

How are those around us going to call on the One who can save them if they have not believed in Him? How can they believe if they have not heard about Him? There are those all around us who do not understand what Jesus has done for them. They need to hear. But, they will not hear unless a follower of Jesus shares the message with them. Jesus has sent us to bring His message to those in darkness (Matthew 28:19-20; John 17:18; 20:21). We are “to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me” (Acts 26:18). Brothers and sisters may we do so today and for the rest of our lives to the honor and glory of God. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVu5VZsCNOI How beautiful are the feet of them who bring the good news to others!

Dear Father may this be my focus for the rest of my life. Oh, may I share Your Word with people in some form each day of my life. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
