But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.” The high priest tore his clothes. “Why do we need any more witnesses?” he asked. “You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?” They all condemned him as worthy of death. —Mark 14:61-63
There are those who have said that Jesus never claimed to be the Son of God. Here He says, “I Am” and the Jews said He had spoken blasphemy. Who Jesus is really stretches the mind beyond its limits. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KT4VDAIaMwU
-“What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?” (Matthew 8:29)
-“What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!” (Mark 1:24)
-The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, “Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” (Luke 5:21)
-In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. –He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. (John 1:1-3) with Genesis 1:1
-The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:15-17)
-In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. (Hebrews 1:1-3)
-That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. (I John 1:1-2)
How can a person read just these verses and miss who Jesus is? Can we fully grasp who He is? Of course not, but that should not lead someone to deny who He is! Instead, let us rejoice in who Jesus is! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TI6K1Y7fvW0
Dear Father, I stand in awe of Jesus, my redeemer and King. Oh, that I would truly be and do what You desire out of gratitude. May I joyfully rejoice in my Lord Jesus. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
