THE LAMB PROVIDED

“God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” —Genesis 22:8

Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death. —Hebrews 11:19

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. —John 3:16

Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! —John 1:29

God did indeed provided the lamb to be offered as a sacrifice instead of Isaac and Abraham name the place “The Lord Will Provide.” And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided” (Genesis 22:13-14). About 2000 years ago and about 2000 years after the time of Abraham God did provide on that mountain! Jesus, the Lamb of God, went to the Hill of God, “to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals–one on his right, the other on his left” (Luke 23:33). Dear Father, thank You for providing Your Holy Lamb to be offered in my stead so I could be forgiven and enabled to follow You. May I do so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
