SELF CHECK!
SELF CHECK!
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. —II Peter 1:5-9
So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body. —II Peter 1:12-13
And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things. —II Peter 1:15
To be effective and productive in the knowledge of Jesus it is clear that we need to have the above qualities mentioned and be maturing in them. Otherwise we are told that we will be “nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.” Again, “add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.” Do a personal inventory and consider how you are maturing in each of these: faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, mutual affection, love. Well, what did your inventory reveal? Are you being effective and productive in the knowledge of Jesus? May it be so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RPdCPUdrQ0
Dear Father, please help me to not only have these qualities, but to be maturing in them. May this be so for Your glory in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
