BETRAYAL

BETRAYAL

As soon as they arrived, Judas walked up to Jesus. “Rabbi!” he exclaimed, and gave him the kiss. —Mark 14:45

Only friends can cause the pain of betrayal that a stranger cannot bring. Those who are close to us and turn on us are the ones who truly cause our heart to ache. Judas spent about 3 years with Jesus and the other disciples. That was 3 years of walking and talking together. Three years of eating and sleeping. Three years… three years and still the other disciples did not have a clue as to who Judas really was. Three years that Jesus knew who His betrayer was (John 6:70). Three years and then Judas would betray Jesus with a kiss. Ever feel betrayed. Jesus surely knows what betrayal feels like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EOuKlY7Ugo But, He was not alone. His Father was with Him. Nor are we alone when someone betrays us. “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Hebrews 13:5-6). Trust the Lord God Almighty above every other relationship. He never fails us. All other relationships will… some more, some less. Keep your eyes on Jesus!

Dear Father, I thank You that I can always depend upon You. I thank You that You are always there and do not give up on me. I want to thank You that You are always there and never abandon me. I want to thank You that You are always there and don’t seek greener pastures. I am truly amazed at Your faithfulness to me in Your Son, Jesus and by Your Holy Spirit. Thank You!
