PRAY!
And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare. — Jeremiah 29:7
I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. —I Timothy 2:1-2
God, through Jeremiah, told the people to pray for the city where they are sent as exiles because the welfare of that city will determine the welfare of themselves. So it is with us today. We are to pray for those who “are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.” Those ruling will have a great impact on our nation and surely on those who follow Jesus Christ. So it is in any nation. So pray for the nation we live in and for the leaders of that nation.

Dear Father, may You guide those who lead this nation to do what is right for the people of this nation. May it be so that we could live peaceful and quiet lives, being godly with dignity. So be it in the Name of Jesus and by Your Holy Spirit’s power.
