MADE FOR HIS PURPOSES

The Lord has made everything for his own purposes. —Proverbs 16:4

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us. —II Corinthians 1:3-7

Take a look around and praise the Lord God Almighty for all that He has made. There is purpose behind everything He does. Do you truly understand that you were made by Him for specific purposes? He has specific purposes He desires to work out in and through your life! Rejoice and be sensitive to what they are. He will do exactly what He desires, but only on His timetable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtcBURtm5Aw

A boat is made to float whether the water is flat or raging. The circumstances of the water the boat is floating on does not change the purpose for what the boat was made for. So too is it with you and I. His purposes for us do not change whether life’s circumstances are calm or rough.

In the rough seas of life let us praise God who desires “to comfort us in all our troubles.” Then as He has comforted us He wants us to take what we learn from His comforting us and seek to comfort others as well. How has the Lord God Almighty comforted you? In what ways have you, are you or will you use that comfort that He comforted you with to comfort someone else? May we be sensitive to those around us today who need to be comforted!

Dear Father, please help me today to comfort the person or persons you desire me comfort today and any day. May it be so in the authority of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power.
