FORGIVEN OR NOT

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice. —Luke 23:34

Just as it was then so it is today. People do not understand why Jesus had to be crucified nor do they understand who they are themselves— that they are wicked sinners in rebellion against God and are headed for eternal Hell if they do not repent (turn from their own ways) and call on Jesus to save them from sin, death and Hell and be reconciled to God. It is wonderful to know Jesus! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jbe7OruLk8I

When they hear the message about Jesus— how much He loves then, how He died on the cross to take the punishment for their sin, how he was buried and rose from the dead— they will either accept Him or reject Him. Those who reject Him do so to follow their own wicked ways and many will speak vehemently against Jesus.

Those not trusting Jesus do not understand that they need to “come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants” (II Timothy 2:26). The truth of the matter is that those who have not trusted Jesus are not thinking right and are trapped by the devil. They are being held prisoner by the devil and are doing his will! They are blinded by Him (II Corinthians 4:4).

But, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13). I am so glad the Lord brought me to the point of sincerely calling on His Name! It is my hope that everyone who reads this has done so as well. If not, why not? Nobody loves you like Jesus! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzfPHnoT0-0

Dear Father, I am grateful that You drew me to Jesus. Oh, that many others would be drawn to Him. Be pleased to work through me to encourage others to trust Him. May this be done in the authority of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power.
