YOU ARE HIGHLY VALUED!
What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? —Mark 8:36-37
One person is worth more than the wealth and ownership of the whole world! This is the value that God has placed on you! Nobody could pay the penalty for your sin. There is not enough wealth or worth on this whole planet or in all of creation that could redeem you from your sin. No man or multitude of men could ever redeem you from your sin— “No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them— the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough— so that they should live on forever and not see decay” (Psalm 49:7-9). There is only One who could do it!
Do we understand how much God loves us? There is nothing we could do to redeem our soul from sin, to be forgiven, to come into a relationship with God. But God knows us… He knows our very name and everything about us https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtlDVleJBtA. He knows all about our situation and how helpless we are. The Lord God Almighty created us for relationship with Him and sin destroyed that opportunity for us. But, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). What no man could do the Lord Jesus did! The eternal Son of God took the punishment and made payment for our sin so that we could be forgiven and come into relationship with God through Him. Jesus is no mere man. No mere man could redeem the life of just one man, but Jesus opened up the way for “anyone who calls on the name of the Lord” to be saved (Romans 10:13).
Truly we should understand the great value God has placed upon us! This Jesus, the Creator and Sustainer of all things loved us so much that He was willing to die for us on a wretched cross to redeem us from our sin. Then Jesus rose from the dead declaring that He is the Son of God (Romans 1:4). Yes, you are worth more than many sparrows!
