THE BEST IS AHEAD!
I saw before me what seemed to be a glass sea mixed with fire. And on it stood all the people who had been victorious over the beast and his statue and the number representing his name. They were all holding harps that God had given them. And they were singing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb: “Great and marvelous are your works, O Lord God, the Almighty. Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous deeds have been revealed.” —Revelation 15:2-4
Ever have someone tell you the end of the story of how a book or movie ends? It kind of takes away the important part. Some record sports events when they are not available to watch it live, but then someone tells them the score and takes away the ending. Well we followers of Jesus know the end of the story of life on this planet and it is an encouragement.
Last night we were at a nursing home singing Christmas Carols and it is always a stark reminder of the hope we have in the Lord Jesus Christ. We all age and will be seniors one day. It was a joy to share this reminder of being with Jesus after death and in heaven there will be no more death, pain, sorrow or tears, but everything will be perfect… even our bodies! You could see the joy on some of the faces as the truth of the hope we have in Jesus beyond the grave enlightened their minds. Yes, it was wonderful to sing last night, but there is a time coming when we will be singing in Heaven. Oh, what a time that will be! Rejoice fellow follower of Jesus. The best is yet ahead!
Dear Father, we so look forward to being with the Lord Jesus and all who love Him. Until then, may we be faithful in lifting His Name in song and testimony in His authority and by the Holy Spirit’s power. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLtUhV0GR9o&index=4&list=PLcHqC9YNzSaD-O-rkP9o8hDA9jJ_oja4l
