GOD’S HOSPITAL

If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts. —I John 1:10

Broken people… we see them in hospitals with some sort of physical brokenness and we see them in churches with spiritual brokenness. Hospitals deal with people who have physical needs and churches work with people who have spiritual needs. I read there are 5,686 hospitals in the U.S. with 914,513 beds and 320,000 churches with 56,000,000 weekly worshipers (seats). There are many who acknowledged they have physical needs, but look at those who are attending churches. Have they truly acknowledged their spiritual needs?

For those who claim they have not sinned the verse above tells us they “are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in” their hearts. Just as those going to a hospital acknowledge they have a physical need so those going to church need to acknowledge they have a spiritual need. Those going to a hospital acknowledge they are sick and those attending a church have acknowledged or need to acknowledge that they have sinned against the Almighty and turn from their sin (repentance). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qXsGfEWaaM

In a hospital the doctor prescribes the needs and desires for the patient in need of physical healing. In a church the Great Physician prescribes His desires to meet the needs of the spiritual patient. For the unhealthy in a hospital or church, they need to follow the instructions to become healthy— physically or spiritually.

Those in need of physical medical attention, deny this and refused to get medical care, well, they could die. Those who will not acknowledge their sin and rebellion against God will also die, but their death will be eternal separation from God forever… and ever…

The Great Physician, Jesus, made it possible that we could become spiritually healthy. Why would anyone not come under His care?

Dear Father, thank You that I am in the care of the Great Physician. I am so glad to know I can trust Him fully!
