When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: “Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.” This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain. Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire. —Hebrew 12:26-29

In Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King there is a scene that depicts the kingdom that will not be shaken. The ground gives way and swallows all except for those who are “in the kingdom.” This represents the kingdom that will not be shaken.

There is coming a day when the whole of creation will be shaken and all that will be left are those who are receiving the Kingdom that is “unshakable.” Who will be in this Kingdom? We are told in Isaiah 28:16 that “Therefore, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken.” Who is this precious cornerstone? In I Peter 2:6-7 we read that “For in Scripture it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame. Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.” In I Peter 2:4 “You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor.”

So, all who trust in the Lord Jesus are on solid ground, ground that will never be shaken—a Kingdom that will last forever. All those who have not trusted the Lord Jesus are standing on ground that will be shaken and cave in— into a Hell that was originally prepared for the devil and his demons. (Matthew 25:41). Oh, if you have not, please trust Jesus and stand on the ground that will never be shaken with those who have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ!

Dear Father, thank You for bringing me into the Kingdom through the Lord Jesus. I am grateful to be in this Kingdom that will have no end with all those who love Jesus. I so look forward to that day when only the unshakable will exist. May it be soon!
