I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. —Philippians 3:14

Runners put their all into their races right to the very end as they press toward the finish.

As followers of Jesus “let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith” (Hebrews 12:1-2). Just as runners lean toward the finish line, pressing toward it, so may we finish well. Keep your eyes on Jesus!

Dear Father, may I finish well the race You laid out before me. Oh, that I would press forward with the strength that only comes from You. May I truly run in the authority of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power. May it be so!
