ENCOURAGED AND HOPEFUL!
Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. —Romans 15:4
Some people put their hope in money. Others put their hope in good health, a good job, a good life. They are encouraged when their finances make life “easier” and when they are not overcome by some sickness, loss of their job or business or having difficult relational conflict with in the family or with anyone else. But all these things are so temporary and changing…
Our hope should rest securely in God’s Word and what He has to say. It is only His Word that is secure and unchanging as it speaks about Himself, reveals Himself and shows us His plans and purposes. He is the only One who is fully trustworthy. It is His desire to teach us. Have we been in His Word today—listening or reading what He has to say? He wants to encourage us. He wants us to have hope. Listen to Him! Be encouraged and have hope!
Dear Father, thank You for the hope and encouragement we gain through You speaking to us. Oh that we would be listening often and regularly and then encourage others toward You as well that they too may have hope. May this be done in the authority of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power.
