COMRADES OR OPPONENTS

Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me. —Matthew 12:30

Friend or foe? Are you with Jesus or opposing Him? Are you working with Him or working against Him? There is no middle road. There is no neutral ground.

As in any war, there are two sides and so it is in the spiritual warfare that encompasses this whole planet. People are either for Jesus and working with Him or they are opposing Him and working against Him. Someone may say, “I don’t oppose Jesus. I am just living my life and don’t follow anyone.” This is the great deception that is taking place. Every person is following someone whether they know it or not. A person is either following Jesus and that is easily known by the way they live or they are following Satan which many people do not understand.

“We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one” (I John 5:19). A person is either a child of God, which they become by truly trusting the Lord Jesus Christ, or they are under the control of the evil one, Satan. We are told the same thing in II Timothy 2:25-26— “Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.” Those who are opposing the truth are actually being held captive to do Satan’s will! They are spiritual P.O.W.s in a labor camp. The great deception is that the P.O.W.s think they are free and doing their own will! They are actually opposing Jesus.

You and I are on one side or the other. There is no middle ground. There is no sitting the fence. The question is—Are you for Jesus or against Him? Are you working with Him or against Him? All who have not trusted Him, which is seen by not working with Him, are opposing Him and working against Him. Oh, that you and I would be for Him and working with Him. May it be so! “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).

Dear Father, may I be faithfully serving Jesus my Lord and Savior. Oh, that I would truly be honoring Him by being the type of person You desire me to be and by being about the work You have called me to do. May it be so in the power of the Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
