BLIND
These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.” —Matthew 15:8-9
Leave them; they are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit. —Matthew 15:14
Here in New Hampshire outside groups promoted the homosexual republican for governor and he won the primary election. These in the kingdom of darkness are spiritually blind and are leading others down a dangerous road to eternal destruction.
It matters not if it is religious leaders or non-religious leaders, those who claim to know God, but their hearts are far from Him, they are just speaking words and their lives are not impacted. They can claim they are wise, but they are blind guides. Unfortunately, the majority of people on this planet are blind and will follow these unregenerate leaders to their eternal destruction unless they repent (turn from their own ways) and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are told in II Corinthians 4:4 that “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” They are blind and if they are in a leadership position they are blindly leading others and their end will not be good. But, there is hope! In II Corinthians 4:5-7 we read that “we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” Man cannot change man from being blind to being able to see. But, God can!
The ONLY hope we have is in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Only by God’s power can man be saved from spiritual blindness, sin, himself, Satan and eternal destruction and saved to a relationship with God, being able to serve God now and to be with Him forever after death. As the song says, “I once was lost but now am found, was blind, but not I see.” This only happens by God’s power.
Apparently, I was 50 votes shy of being elected to one of the State Rep seats and that is OK. Ministry for me is wherever the Lord leads me. While I went door to door in the “campaign” it was never just talking about political issues. Most of the people I talked with also got a least the gospel in written form. I will never see most of those people again on this planet, but they had the opportunity presented to them to trust the Lord Jesus Christ. That is what is most important.
For those of us who know the Lord Jesus, we have the Light to share with others who are in the darkness being led by leaders of which the vast majority is also in darkness. The Lord has given us the ability to encourage these folks to come out of the darkness and trust Him who is the Light, Jesus. May we be faithful in this most important ministry. Yes, may this be so!
Dear Father, please help us to faithfully share the gospel with those around us. Help us to be faithful in this ministry as we seek to serve the Lord Jesus.
