JESUS TAKES AWAY BLINDNESS!

JESUS TAKES BLINDNESS AWAY!

One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.” John 9:25

Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” He answered, “And who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?” Jesus said to him, “You have seen him, and it is he who is speaking to you.” He said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him. Jesus said, “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.” —John 9:35-39

Consider having been born blind and then instantly receiving your sight! It is hard to imagine for us who have seen all our lives. The life that was lived in blindness was radically changed in a moment by Jesus for this man who had lived all his years in darkness. Not anymore!

When Jesus told the once blind man Who He was the blind man believed and worshipped Jesus. Jesus then told the man that He “I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.” But He was not talking about physical sight. Jesus was talking about spiritual sight. In the case of the blind man, well, he received both physical sight and spiritual sight. He now was able to “see” that Jesus was the Son of Man, the Messiah.

In February of 1979 is when Jesus took my spiritual blindness away. That is when I understood, to a degree, Who He was and why He came and that I needed Him. What a joy it has been to follow Him. Yes, there has been difficulty as Jesus promised there would be (John 16:33), but He also said to “take courage” because as He has overcome the world, so also we will overcome the world (I John 5:1-5).

Those who “think” they can see are really blind. They do not understand who Jesus is, but think they are spiritually all set. They are blind to Who Jesus really is and they can live life on their own of fulfill religious works obligations to attain eternal life. They cannot see Who Jesus is or what He has done for them. They are living in their own strength regardless how religious their words are.

How exciting to know that “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.  For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (II Corinthians 4:4-6). It is God who takes away our blindness. There is nothing we can do about it except rejoice when He takes off the spiritual blinders. “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day” (John 6:44). Is the Father drawing you to Jesus? Then call on the Name of Jesus and be saved from sin to a life forever with Him (Romans 10:13). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwCTbhImNeI

Dear Father I thank You for drawing me to Jesus to have my spiritual blindness taken away. Thank You! Out of a grateful heart may I seek to live faithfully for You in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
