JUDGMENT AND REWARD

JUDGMENT & REWARD

The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”  And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying: “We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign.  The nations were angry, and your wrath has come.  The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your people who revere your name, both great and small— and for destroying those who destroy the earth.”  Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.  —Revelation 11:15-19

Be sure that Jesus will reign in heaven and one earth— “your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10) will come become full reality.  Judgment on the unbelieving will take place at the White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:15) and followers of Jesus will be rewarded at the Judgment Seat of Christ (II Corinthians 5:10: I Corinthians 3:10-15).  Yes, fellow follower of Jesus, He will reign forever and ever and we will be with Him forever and ever.  Reflect on what is ahead and be faithful out of loving gratitude in the present.  Seek to “throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:1-2).  Our High Priest finished the work and now we can rest in Him who loves us with an everlasting love.  Rejoice!  We will be with Him soon!

Dear Father, I am so grateful to know what is ahead in the future.  I look so forward to being with Jesus and all who love Him in that gloriously perfect place.  May I lovingly live for You now in the authority of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
