RIGHTEOUSNESS!

RIGHTEOUSNESS!

Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness. —Genesis 15:6

This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. —Romans 3:22

However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. —Romans 4:5

The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. —Romans 4:23-25

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. —Romans 5:8

For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! —Romans 5:10

Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. —Romans 10:4

As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame” and “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” —Romans 10:11, 13

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. —II Corinthians 5:21

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. —Galatians 2:20

You and I did not deserve salvation before we knew Jesus and let us consider this— we still do not DESERVE salvation after we are saved, after we call on the name of the Lord Jesus! There is nothing in us that demands God to say we must be saved or that He must keep us saved! Our Father is the One who drew us to Jesus (John 6:44) and it is all by grace, His favor for His purposes that we DO NOT DERERVE! Jesus is our Defense, our Righteousness (I John 2:1-2). Without Jesus we would be in our sin, deserving of eternal death, lost forever in Hell. “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved” (Ephesians 2:4-5). Salvation is all by God’s grace. Rejoice! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e37m3I5eH8g

Dear Father, it is astounding to my little brain that You would love me so much before I knew You and after. I thank You and desire to live a life pleasing to You in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. May it be so!
