That perfume was worth a year’s wages. —John 12:4

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Luke 12:34). “Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said” (Luke 10:39). Mary anointed Jesus’ feet with an ointment that was worth a year’s wages. In today’s economy the average U.S. household income is $53,657. She surely treasured Jesus not only with her finances, but also with her time. She loved to sit at Jesus’ feet to listen to Him.

How about you and I? How are we using our income and time to honor the Lord Jesus Christ and to further His kingdom? Is there anyone or anything greater than He in our lives? What is the evidence in our lives that He is our top priority?

Dear Father, may I have Your priority in the use of the time and finances that You have made me a steward over. May this be done to honor the Lord Jesus. May it be so!
