JOB’S DIFFICULTIES— NO UNDERSTANDING AS TO WHY THEY WERE HAPPENING!
JOB’S DIFFICULTIES— NO UNDERSTANDING AS TO WHY THEY WERE HAPPENING!
He has kindled his wrath against me and counts me as his adversary. —Job 19:11
God will send his burning anger against him and rain it upon him into his body. —Job 20:23
The possessions of his house will be carried away, dragged off in the day of God’s wrath. This is the wicked man’s portion from God, the heritage decreed for him by God.” —Job 20:28-29
Again, the focus is on Job’s belief, and his “friends” belief, is that God is pouring out His wrath on Job. But this could not be further from the truth. It is interesting how God is at the forefront of blame for Job’s horrific circumstances, but that Satan is not blamed at all.
Now here is a huge ploy of the adversary that continues to this day— Satan seeks the destruction of people. He desires them to blame God and curse God. Job is not cursing God as Satan desires (Job 1:11; 2:5), but he is blaming God for what is happening in his life. Satan is not even mentioned, but he covertly brings about his destructive ploys.
Job, his wife, his relatives, his friends and those who are just observing what is happening to him do not understand that this is Satan’s hand directly at work, not God’s. We know the major lesson from this Book of Job is that we have nobody else in heaven but God and though if it was even Him who was slaying me, yet will I trust Him (Job 13:15).
We who are privileged to have God’s overall Word in written form are fortunate to see the bigger picture. Let us not fall into the same “cookie cutter” mindset as Job and all those in his life thinking we know how God works or how He does not work— at all times and in every situation. No, let us be filled with the wisdom of His Word and with His Holy Spirit as we seek to encourage others or even seek to understand those difficult things that are occurring in our own lives. God is ultimately reigning and He is doing things behind the scenes that we have NO IDEA Of! Let’s trust Him with what we do not understand and trust Him with what we do understand. Yes, Dear Father may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIpnW3rtRQ4
