LISTEN!

LISTEN!

Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. —Luke 9:23-26

A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.” —Luke 9:35

            Am I listening?  Am I hearing what God is saying?  What is He saying to me today?  From the passage above I am hearing—

• If I want to be a disciple of Jesus I must deny myself.
• If I want to be a disciple of Jesus I must take up my cross daily.
• If I want to be a disciple of Jesus I must follow Jesus.
• If I want to be a disciple of Jesus I cannot seek to save my life or I will lose it.
• If I want to be a disciple of Jesus I must lose my life in order to find it.
• If I want to be a disciple of Jesus I must not seek worldly gain or I will forfeit self.
• If I want to be a disciple of Jesus I must not be ashamed of Jesus.
• If I want to be a disciple of Jesus I must not be ashamed of Jesus’ Words.

“This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.”  Have I heard?  Will I be lovingly obedient to what He is saying to me?  May it be so Dear Father by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Let these not be just words that I read or hear, but words that will stir me to faithfully apply them to my life as You desire.  So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12a1eF5X-mA
