BEAUTIFUL FEET
I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. —John 17:6
I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. —John 17:14-18
Brother and sister please consider today this part of Jesus’ prayer from John chapter 17. 1st— Jesus reveals the truth of God to us just as He did to His disciples. Today He does so through the Holy Spirit (John 16:13-15). 2nd— We who know Jesus were given out of the world to Him by His Father. Wow… this is amazing! 3rd— We are to keep His Word just as the disciples who were walking with Him then did. This is talking about obedience! 4th— We are not of the world and so the world will hate us. Be aware, that the world’s hatred comes in many forms. Remember “that friendship with the world is hostility with God? Therefore whoever has chosen to be a friend of the world is appointed an enemy of God” (James 4:4). 5th— Jesus prayed that we would be kept from the evil one. Be wise and aware (I Peter 5:8) and rejoice in our victory through Jesus (I Corinthians 15:57). 6th— We are sanctified by the truth of His Word. Be in His Word on a daily basis to listen to Him and be/do what He says! This is how we mature in Him. 7th— We are sent into the world just as the Father sent Jesus into the world— sent with a mission and we are to about His business (Matthew 22:37-40; Matthew 28:18-20).
Consider these points mentioned above and let me ask you this— How many of those points did you know before you called on the Lord Jesus to be saved (Romans 10:13)? None of them! How many of these points do you think those presently lost understand of these? Again, none of them! They are only understood when a person calls on His Name and begin to live for Him. There are those around us that do not understand who will respond to Him for salvation. It is up to you and me to bring this Good News to them. This is why Jesus has us in the world and has sent us into the world.
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” —Romans 10:14-15
There are four “how” questions mentioned in these verses. How will you respond to them? Will you have “beautiful feet?” Will you and I bring God’s Word of Truth to them? May it be so!
Dear Father may my feet be beautiful. Yes, may I bring this Word of Good New to those who have not heard. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. Please guide me in this. Yes, may it be so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9rY2H8hgwA
