THE FOOL

In the pride of his face the wicked does not seek him; all his thoughts are, “There is no God.” —Psalm 10:4

Why does the wicked renounce God and say in his heart, “You will not call to account”? —Psalm 10:13

            The arrogant little creature shakes his fist and says to the God who created him, “There is no God.” In His pride the wicked say in his heart that God “will not call to account.” They renounce Him who is the very one that gave them life and holds their lives together. Yet man wants to follow after his own gods and after his own desires.   He does not desire God and His ways.

            Just because a person thinks or says words does not make them true. People can say all they want that there is no God, but that does not change the fact that He does exist. They do not understand. They do not seek God. They have all turned away. They have all become corrupt. There is no one who does good. There is not even one who does good (Psalm 14:2-3).

            This is the bleak state of those who have not called on the Name of the Lord to be saved from sin, death and hell. But those who have called on His Name have eternal life, know God now and will be with Him forever in Heaven. The fool, lost in his own devices, will go his way to Hell. Those who have called on Jesus will be with Him in glory! Where will you be?

Dear Father thank You for saving me from my foolishness. I am grateful for all that You have done for me, are doing for me and will do for me in Jesus. Out of gratitude may I live a faithful life for you with the time I have left on this planet. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
