THE ONLY STAR
THE ONLY STAR
I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel… A ruler will come out of Jacob…
—Numbers 24:17, 19
The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he to whom it belongs shall come and the obedience of the nations shall be his. —Genesis 49:10
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” —Matthew 2:1-2
The foretold King has come! He who was spoken about centuries before His arrival came, finished His atonement work, return to glory and will come again to fetch His bride. People talk about movie “stars.” These are folks that are suppose to shine among us, but most of them, the vast majority of them are dark stars keeping people in darkness. Well, this Star that has come is the Star above all stars. He alone is purely Light and Truth. He alone is to be worshipped. He alone is exalted. He alone is to be feared. He alone is to be followed. He alone is to be loved above all. He alone is to be obeyed!
This Star, this Scepter was to come out of Judah and He did. He is the Ruler above all rulers. None come close to Him. The Scepter belongs to Jesus and all nations will come into obedience to Him. All knees will bow to Him. The Magi saw His Star when it rose and came to worship Him. Wise men do still seek Him today. He was foretold, He came, He did His atonement work on the cross (I John 2:2), He rose from the dead, He appeared to many over 40 days, He went back to heaven, and… He is coming again! Rejoice! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MgV0Rybx5o
Dear Father, thank You for Your Star, Jesus. Thank You for the finished work on the cross, for His resurrection, for His ascension and for His promised return. May I faithfully run the race You have marked out for while keeping my eyes fixed on Jesus. May it be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
