CLEAN IN CHRIST

Jesus replied, “Unless I wash you, you won’t belong to me.” Simon Peter exclaimed, “Then wash my hands and head as well, Lord, not just my feet!” Jesus replied, “A person who has bathed all over does not need to wash, except for the feet, to be entirely clean. And you disciples are clean. —John 13:8-10

Dear fellow follower of Jesus, do you know that you are clean in Jesus? “And you disciples are clean.” It is truly amazing as we consider what we have in the Lord Jesus Christ. How could we not love Him more and more the more we know of how much He loves us? May we grow in that understanding.

James 1:27 tells us to keep self “unspotted from the world.” As we walk in this world that we are in, but not part of, we will get spotted at times. It does not mean we need to get “saved again” or be “born-again” again. It does mean that we need to confess and turn from our sin to stay in fellowship with God. Yes, it is truly amazing the eternal life we have in Jesus and a place in Heaven. May we be faithful until we get there.

Dear Father, thank You for washing me clean through the blood substitute of Your Son. Now may I live to honor Him in the power of the Holy Spirit.
