LISTEN AND LIVE! — SHARE LIFE!
To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the Lord is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it. —Jeremiah 6:10
Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant. —Colossians 1:21-23
They are in grave eternal danger when a person, people or nation will not listen to our Lord when He says, “To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me?” Such people say that “The word of the Lord is offensive to them” and “they find no pleasure in it.” Their end result will not be good when they will not listen to His Word and are offended by it. So, brother and sister, fellow follower/disciple of Jesus, do not be surprised when this happens. Instead, be encouraged because there are those we will come into contact with that will be ready to listen, heed the warning, not be offended by His Word and will take pleasure in it— just as we did. So, remain faithful, diligent and intentional in sharing His Word.
Don’t forget, “Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.” Yes—
“You were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.” —Ephesians 2:1-3
We were once lost without hope—
“But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.” —Colossians 1:21-23
Truly, “because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved” (Ephesians 2:4-5). And just like He did that for us, there are others around us that He will do that for. He has given us the responsibility to bring the gospel so that they will respond to Him. May we be faithful in doing so like somebody was with us when they brought His Word to us! Yes, Dear Father, may we be faithful to the call of Jesus on our lives to be His witnesses/disciple makers right down to the end of the age or end of our lives. Yes, may be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus that many more will be saved! So be it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0nQl_EFZEs&list=RD_0nQl_EFZEs&start_radio=1
