FEARLESSLY, COURAGEOUSLY CARRIED OUT HIS WORK FAITHFULLY
Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. —II Chronicles 20:15
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. —Romans 10:14-17

Ok, truly, those of us who claim the Name of Jesus and profess to be His disciples, how faithful are we? We may say that we love our Lord, but are we being obedient to Him (John 14:21). Are we being faithful or fearful in carrying out His purposes? Are we down and discouraged, believing the work is too great for us. Well, let us remember that “the battle is not yours, but God’s.”
Whether His people are fighting a great army or sharing the gospel/making disciples, He said of His people— “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20) and “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Hebrews 13:5-6). And our Lord has also said, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father” (John 14:12).
So, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:8). Let us be about our Lord’s work because—

The question is “How will this happen?” It will happen when faithful, loving, obedient followers of Jesus carry out the work He has sent them to do (John 17:18). Faith comes from hearing or reading His Word (John 20:31; Romans 10:17). Will we bring the Word of God, the Message of God to them? Oh, Dear Father, may it be so! Today, may You guide me to the person(s) that You desire me to share Your Word with. Yes, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.
