LOVING OBEDIENCE TO OUR LORD

To obey is better than sacrifice… for rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. —I Samuel 15:22-23

The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” —I Samuel 16:7

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” —John 8:12

You judge by human standards… —John 8:15

The Lord detests the way of the wicked, but he loves those who pursue righteousness. —Proverbs 15:9

             People judge others by outward appearance and human standards, but our Lord does not do that.  No, He “does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”  Even though a person may appear to be faithful to others, our Lord really knows the inner workings of a person.  He definitely knows if a person is walking in darkness or walking in the light—- those who need to “come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will (II Timothy :26) or “if anyone obeys his word, love for God a is truly made complete in them” (I John 2:5).  Surely—

“This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.” —John 3:19-21
