ETERNAL LIFE OR ETERNAL DEATH— YOUR CHOICE

The wages of the righteous is life, but the earnings of the wicked are sin and death. —Proverbs 10:16

             Wow!  “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).  God has given all who have called on Jesus eternal life (Romans 10:13).  Eternal life!  There are some living sad lives who think, “I don’t want to live forever!”  Unfortunately, they equate this fallen, earthly life with what will be forever.  That is not the case.  Read Revelation chapters 21-22!  Eternal life is going to be so much more than what we can think or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).  That is true here and now, but it is also true of what is coming… forever.

             For the righteous— “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (II Corinthians 5:21) — we will be with Jesus in forever perfection, peace and joy!  Brothers and sisters, fellow followers/disciples of Jesus, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and run the race with perseverance that He has marked out for us.  We will come to the finish line and cross over into eternity with Jesus and all who love Him and that is not too long in the future…

             For the wicked— “the wages of sin is death” —

“Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.” —Revelation 20:11-15
