GOD PROVIDES FOR US TO ENJOY!

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. —Genesis 1:21

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. —I Timothy 6:17

Before the fall, God said of everything He created that “it was very good.”  He had created—

  • Day one— Light and darkness, day and night
  • Day two— Sky in between the waters above and the waters below
  • Day three— Seas and dry land on which vegetation would grow
  • Day four— Sun, moon and also the stars
  • Day five— Fish and creatures of the sea and birds
  • Day six— Land animals, man— male and female
  • Day seven— A day of rest
  • A garden God place man in to care for
  • All man needed to live
  • One command to not eat of the knowledge of good and evil

Yes, all this was very good.  Adam and Eve were “to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.”  So it was with them in the beginning before sin entered the world, but so it is for us today as well even in creations fallen state because of sin.  We are “to put (our) hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.”  So, enjoy—

  • The light and darkness, the day and night
  • The sky above
  • The seas, dry land and the vegetation that grows
  • The sun, moon and stars
  • The fish and creatures of the sea and birds
  • The land animals, man— male and female
  • The day of rest
  • The responsibility God has given you in His creation
  • The resources He has given you to live
  • The Word He has given you to guide your life

Yes, let us enjoy and be thankful for all He has given to us to enjoy!  This would be a good way to start off this first day of 2026.  Elaine and I so enjoy walking the beaches here in New Hampshire in the summer season… which is so short here.  But we just had a week in Florida with the daily temperature being in the 80’s with clear blue sky every day.  We so enjoyed spending time together walking miles and miles of various beaches and hearing stories and sharing Jesus with so many people.  Yes, we enjoyed that time so much!  Let us find joy in what He has given us to enjoy every day.  The greatest joy is ahead— to be with Jesus in glory.  Until then, Dear Father, may I be grateful for all You have provided for us to enjoy.  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son, and my Lord, Jesus.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moL8iDWiyRQ&list=RDmoL8iDWiyRQ&start_radio=1
