GUARANTEED REDEMPTION BY THE HOLY SPIRIT’S SEAL!
So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard? So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” — Galatians 3:5-6
He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. —Galatians 3:14
At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. —Galatians 3:29
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.. —Ephesians 1:13-14
The Holy Spirit of God, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession” — “marked (us) in him (Jesus) with a seal.” Now we have the power of God’s Holy Spirit to live a life that is pleasing to Him. Yes, the Holy Spirit of God came into our life by faith when we believed in Jesus. Just as Abraham was counted righteous by faith, so we receive the Holy Spirit by faith. We heard the gospel about Jesus and believed. At that moment God’s Holy came into us. How fortunate we are!
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” —I Corinthians 6:19-20
We are to yield to listen to the Holy Spirit because—
“He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.” —John 16:13-15
God our Father sent the Holy Spirit of God to transform us to become more like the Son of God. How does that happen? By being “transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:2). How does this renewing of the mind take place? By “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:17).
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” —Hebrews 4:12-13
So, brothers and sisters, dear followers/disciples of Jesus, let us not “quench the Spirit” (I Thessalonians 5:19) or “grieve the Holy Spirit of God” (Ephesians 4:30). Instead, “walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh” Galatians 5:16). Dear Father, may “we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. Yes, may this be so to bring You honor and glory! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lETim34Oi6Q&list=RDlETim34Oi6Q&start_radio=1
