FORGIVEN!
If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you. —Psalm 130:3-4
If our Lord kept a record of our sins, none of us could stand—
“There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.” “Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit.” “The poison of vipers is on their lips.” “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.” “Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know.” “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” —Romans 3:10-18
This is the state of the whole human race and if our Lord kept a record of our sins, we would have no hope. But “
“This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.” —Romans 3:22-26
This is wonder news that Jesus “is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world” (I John 2:2). Jesus took care of the eternal sin problem for every person— past, present and future. So that “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13). For—
“The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved” (Romans 10:8-10).
Yes, when we call on Jesus to save us from our sin, “as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12). Truly, for those followers of Jesus, their sin is gone and they have been set free to serve Him. Thank You, Dear Father, for forgiving my sin. Now, out of great gratitude, may I live faithfully for You by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. May this be for Your honor and glory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_ZWEO36jok&list=RDu_ZWEO36jok&start_radio=1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jbe7OruLk8I&list=RDJbe7OruLk8I&start_radio=1
