I BELIEVE!
I BELIEVE!
Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. —John 20:28-31
I have not seen Jesus, but I believe and therefore, according to His Word, I am blessed! Jesus said, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Thomas only believed because he saw the risen Jesus. Thomas had previously told the rest of the disciples, after they had all seen the risen Jesus, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” Thomas was not going to believe the testimony of eleven other men who had seen Jesus and told him. No, he would not believe unless he saw with his own eyes.
God’s Word was “written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” God has given us His written testimony and there will be those who believe it and those who do not. I, for one, believe. I don’t have to see Jesus to believe. What about you! Do you believe or are you saying with Thomas, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” May our Lord impact your life if you have yet to believe. Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiYxaUGAz7Y&list=RDBiYxaUGAz7Y&start_radio=1
