ENJOYING GOD’S GIFTS!

ENJOY GOD’S GIFTS!

Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income.  This too is meaningless. —Ecclesiastes 5:10

Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God. They seldom reflect on the days of their life, because God keeps them occupied with gladness of heart. —Ecclesiastes 5:19-20

A good name is better than fine perfume, and the day of death better than the day of birth.  It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of everyone; the living should take this to heart. —Ecclesiastes 7:1-2

As no one has power over the wind to contain it, so no one has power over the time of their death. —Ecclesiastes 8:8

Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. —Psalm 9:10

The motivation behind one who has wealth determines whether their wealth is for good or evil.  For the one who loves wealth, it is their idol, then they will ever have enough.  It is true of them that “the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs” (I Timothy 6:10).  Even a follower of Jesus can wander from what He desires of them if they focus on wealth!

“But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth…” (Deuteronomy 8:18) “and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God. They seldom reflect on the days of their life, because God keeps them occupied with gladness of heart.”  Wealth is a gift from God.  We need to be wise in our use of it and be glad as we live life so when someone thinks of our name there are positive and pleasant thoughts of who we are.

Those enjoying the wealth that God has given them do seldom think about the days of their lives.  They know that “no one has power over the wind to contain it, so no one has power over the time of their death.”  So, they focus on living life although they understand “death is the destiny of everyone; the living should take this to heart.”  Instead, they “trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”

Whatever level of wealth our Lord has given us, it is a gift from Him to enjoy and to invest.  May we do so by the power of His Holy Spirit and in the authority of His Son Jesus.  Yes, may this be so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSAN5ObaRQg
