SAVED TO SERVE!

SAVED TO SERVE!

If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?  But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you. —Psalm 130:3-4

God’s forgiveness enables us to serve Him—

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” —Ephesians 2:8-10

If our record of sins were kept, we would have not hope at all.  But when Jesus said, “It is finished” (John 19:30), it was then that He took our record of sin and paid that debt for us.  It was only Jesus that could redeem us.  No other could—

“No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them—the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough—so that they should live on forever and not see decay…   But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead; he will surely take me to himself. —Psalm 49:7-9, 15

Yes, Jesus did what no other could—

“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.” —I Peter 1:18-21

Brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, rejoice in the fact that we have been forgiven, redeemed and saved through the precious “Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29).  Thank You, Dear Father, that You drew me to Jesus and that I called on His Name to save me from my sin to be able to serve You.  May I do so faithfully with the remainder of my life by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Yes, so may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jbe7OruLk8I
