REJOICE IN HIS RELATIONSHIP!
REJOICE IN HIS RELATIONSHIP!
Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. —Joshua 23:14
But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” —Joshua 23:15
Lord, the LORD Almighty, may those who hope in you not be disgraced because of me; God of Israel, may those who seek you not be put to shame because of me. —Psalm 69:6
May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous. —Psalm 69:28
All of us will “go the way of the earth” (except that generation living when Jesus comes back). Yes, all of us are going to die. Now that is not a wonderful thought, but should we not be like the Psalmist who said, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” (Psalm 90:12)? Of course, we should consider the end of life that we might live wisely now with the days we have left. Yes, that we may live according to His desires for our lives!
So, have you chosen to live for the Lord to serve Him. Now that is wisdom! The top priority I pray for my family and extended family, my household, is that we would all serve the Lord. I am thankful that they are all presently healthy. I am thankful for the abilities You have given each of them. But what is foremost on my heart is that Jesus would be their top priority in life— to live gratefully for Him for all that He has done, is doing and will do for them. That is my desire.
Yes, may we live in such a way that “those who hope in you not be disgraced because of me… that those who seek you not be put to shame because of me.” Oh, that I would live in such a way as to impact people positively for Jesus and His kingdom. Yes, may this be true of me and my family. Lord, this is my desire.
But above all else, may we “rejoice that (our) names are written in heaven” (Luke 10:20) and Jesus “will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels. Yes, let us rejoice in our relationship with Jesus because His righteousness is the only righteousness we have that will enable us to be in heaven with Him— “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (II Corinthians 5:21). So let us rejoice and spend time with Jesus, asking Him for wisdom to walk through our days, but also to just rest in His presence. Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLDEt9KP2O0
