NOTHING CAN SEPERATE THE FOLLOWER OF JESUS FROM THE LOVE OF GOD… NOTHING!
NOTHING CAN SEPARATE THE FOLLOWER OF JESUS FROM THE LOVE OF GOD… NOTHING!
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. —II Timothy 3:1-7
Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. —II Timothy 3:12-13
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. —II Timothy 3:16-17
Want to live a godly life for our Lord to honor Him? Then you will face opposition. You can be sure of that. But God has given us all we need “that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” God’s Word is enough and “is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” Yes, His Word is enough to guide us in life and is the final authority.
Look what Paul says things are going to look like in the last days and God tells us through Him that there will be “times of difficulty” because—
- People will be lovers of self
- People will be lovers of money
- People will be proud
- People will be arrogant
- People will be abusive
- People will be disobedient to their parents
- People will be ungrateful
- People will be unholy
- People will be heartless
- People will be unappeasable
- People will be slanderous
- People will be without self-control
- People will be brutal
- People will be not loving good
- People will be treacherous
- People will be reckless
- People will be swollen with conceit
- People will be lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God
- People will be having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power
Brothers and sisters, dear fellow followers of Jesus, we are told to “avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.” Beware of these wolves. They are only out to destroy. So “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (I Peter 5:8). But always remember that “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” (I John 4:4). And for that, Dear Father, we thank You because we know we are safe in Jesus and that nothing in all creation can separate us from You. So may I live to please You by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. Yes, so may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxTOsQ3LDE4
