BE LOVINGLY OBEDIENT

BE LOVINGLY OBEDIENT

But this command I gave them: ‘Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people. And walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.’ —Jeremiah 7:23

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. —I Timothy 2:1-6

Obedience to our Lord is a must if we are truly seeking to be faithful to Him.  Obedience shows He truly is our God and that we are His people.  Obedience shows that we truly love Him because we understand that He loved us first (I John 4:19).  “Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them” (John 14:21).  He has told us to “walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.”  Faithful obedience does not mean we won’t have trials, but it does mean He will be walking through the trials with us.

So, let us be faithful in what He has called us to— let us—

  • Pray for the needs of people
  • Intercede for people
  • Give thank for people
  • Pray for kings
  • Pray for those in high positions
  • Pray for the salvation of people
  • Pray for people to come to a knowledge of the truth

This is some of what God desires of those who are truly and lovingly being obedient to Him.  This “is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”  And there is only one way to the Truth and that way is Jesus.  He is the only mediator between God and man.  He is the only One who “gave Himself as a ransom for all.”  Let us bear testimony to what He has done to others so they also may be in relationship with Him.  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsQmsEE_2-s
