WISDOM IT TO FEAR THE LORD!

WISDOM IS TO FEAR THE LORD!

And he said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’ —Job 28:28

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts gain rich understanding. His praise endures forever! —Psalm 111:10

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. —Proverbs 1:7

            What is it to fear the Lord?  We are told to do so is wisdom.  To fear the Lord is to have a proper perspective as to Who He Is and to be obedient to Him out of love for Him.  That is what it is to fear the Lord.  And when one does have a proper understanding then they will “turn away from evil.”  We are to hate evil and cling to what is good (Romans 12:9).

            Do I have wisdom?  Do you have wisdom?  Wisdom is to:

• Fear the Lord— Do I have a proper perspective on Who He Is?
• Do I have the basic knowledge I need that shows I do fear the Lord?
• Am I being obedient to Him out of love? Am I clinging on to what is good?
• Do I turn away from evil? Do I truly hate evil?
• Am I willing to be instructed by Him?

The way I answer those questions, the way I live out those questions is my answer as to whether you and I truly fear the Lord.  May we do so.  Yes, Dear Father, may I have a proper perspective on Who You Are and then be lovingly obedient by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZ35aiGAchc
