ENCOURAGE THOSE LACKING HOPE!

When I lie down I say, ‘When shall I arise?’ But the night is long, and I am full of tossing till the dawn. —Job 7:4

Therefore I will not restrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul. —Job 7:11

If your children have sinned against him, he has delivered them into the hand of their transgression. —Job 8:4

Such are the paths of all who forget God; the hope of the godless shall perish. —Job 8:13

            Job is in such anguish.  He lost his business.  He lost all his children.  He lost his health.  He lost the support of his wife.  He lost the good counsel of his friends.   He believed God was against him.  Who did he have?  The nights seemed ever so long.  He tossed and turned all night, even until the sun rose.  He was complaining.  He was experiencing bitterness in his soul.

            In all this, he was told, basically, that his children got what they deserved and that he himself had forgotten God and was godless.  He was getting what he deserved as well.  Job is in such pain and these friends just keep heaping burdens of empty, false and painful words upon him.  Communicating to him that which was utterly hopeless.

            Are you bringing hope to those who are feeling hopeless?  Or, do you add to their hopelessness?  Oh, Dear Father, please guide us as we seek to encourage those who are going through any difficulty.  Yes, may You do so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus that we can bring hope to them.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfiYWaeAcRw
