SIN BRINGS ACHING TO YOURSELF AND TO OTHERS
SIN BRINGS ACHING TO YOURSELF AND TO OTHERS
Did not Achan the son of Zerah break faith in the matter of the devoted things, and wrath fell upon all the congregation of Israel? And he did not perish alone for his iniquity. —Joshua 22:20
Because Achan took garments and gold the wrath of God was upon Israel and 36 men died because of his disobedience. His sin brought the wrath of God, the judgment of God on himself and his family and impacted so many others as well. Let this be a serious lesson for us. Our sin does not only impact ourselves, but others as well!
We must understand that we are not independent agents that can do whatever we want without impacting others. And, if we understand that, and continue to do so, then at that moment we are not loving God or the children of God… even if we say we do (I John 5:1-5). Oh, Dear Father, please help me to flee temptation and sin. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son and my Lord and Savior, Jesus.
Listen, brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, do not think that you will not experience God’s judgment as a discipline for continuing in sin. Listen to what happened to some who did experience his judgment as a discipline—
For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. But if we were more discerning with regard to ourselves, we would not come under such judgment. Nevertheless, when we are judged in this way by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be finally condemned with the world. —I Corinthians 11:29-32
So… confess sin immediately and keep away from it for God’s glory and for the good of others and for your good! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBLUQmShmyk
